The "Projects" of OhioCAN
Our vision is to provide those in need with opportunity, dignity, and hope so they can possess the tools for change in themselves, their family, and their community. OhioCAN supports all people regardless of ethnicity, gender, race, or religion.
OhioCAN uses community-driven solutions to empower and build resiliency through innovative, conscious, and passion driven projects. We deliver our Projects through local partnerships to create a loving, heart felt impact in our communities. Practicing random acts of kindness and charitable giving has always been important to OhioCAN. Teaching compassion for others is just as important. OhioCAN has a long tradition of making YouCAN2 bags for those in need throughout the year. The bags were distributed to individuals in detox, in early recovery, to treatment facilities and families in need. We walked through homeless camps, wrapped gifts for Santa and always carried severa in our cars, just in case. It was our first "Project which led to more personal, passion driven missions from County Coordinators. As the needs of addiction have changed over the years, so has OhioCAN. Most County Coordinators with OhioCAN have been involved for the long-haul, since our inception. Our journeys although similar have led us down different paths. It is while traveling these paths our passions have evolved. Whether it be the loss of a child, recovery, homelessness, raising our grandchildren or simply the stages of addiction, we too as an OhioCAN family have grown. Our personal growth has become our Passion and our Project.
